VKS Tech ("we") respects your privacy. This policy explains how MetPower collects, uses, and protects your information. By using MetPower (web app + Play Store app), you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 You Provide
- Mobile Number — for OTP login (mandatory)
- Full Name & Designation — for identification
- Company / Plant Name & Type — to create your workspace
- Plant Location — city/state for support purposes
- Equipment Count — number of metallisers and slitters at your plant
- Employee Code — your internal company identifier
- Schedule, Leave, NCR, Report data — created by you or your manager
1.2 Automatic
- Device Info — browser, OS version, screen size
- Usage Logs — login time, last active time
- Crash Reports — anonymous error data
1.3 We Do NOT Collect
- ❌ Contacts, photos, location (GPS), microphone, camera (unless you explicitly use a feature)
- ❌ Banking or financial information
- ❌ Cross-app tracking
- ❌ Browsing history outside MetPower
2. How We Use Information
- OTP-based authentication via Firebase Phone Auth
- Provide shift schedule, leave, NCR, reporting features
- Send WhatsApp notifications to your registered number when shifts change
- Enable manager–team coordination
- Provide Learn & Grow modules (Met Train, MetCost, MRM, Time Study, SupSkill)
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, unauthorized access
- Comply with legal obligations under Indian law
3. Data Storage & Security
Data is stored on Google Firebase Realtime Database in asia-southeast1 (Singapore) region with industry-standard encryption.
- HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit
- Firebase Phone Auth + reCAPTCHA protection
- Multi-tenant security rules: each company can access only its own data
- Cross-company access prevented at database level
Note: No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We follow best practices but cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. Limited sharing only:
- Within your company: Manager sees team schedules; team members see their own + roster
- Service Providers: Google Firebase (hosting, auth, database), Fast2SMS / Firebase SMS (OTP delivery), WhatsApp (you click links — not auto-sent by us)
- Legal Compliance: if required by Indian court order or law enforcement
- Business Transfer: if VKS Tech is acquired/merged, data transfers with same protections
5. Learn & Grow Module Data
The Learn & Grow section embeds VKS Tech's training tools (Met Train PRO, MetCost Pro, MRM, Time Study, SupSkill). These run as iframes within MetPower.
- Each module may store its own user preferences locally on your device
- Quiz scores in Met Train PRO are stored on your device only (not uploaded)
- MetCost calculations are session-only — not saved to the cloud
- No cross-module tracking
6. Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023)
- Access — request a copy of your data
- Correct — fix inaccurate information
- Delete — permanently remove your account (Section 9)
- Withdraw consent — stop using the app anytime
- Grievance redressal — contact our Officer below
7. Children's Privacy
MetPower is intended for users 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If discovered, accounts will be deleted immediately.
8. Account Deletion
Delete anytime via:
Processed within 72 hours. Manager deletion = entire company workspace removed. See Account Deletion page.
9. Data Retention
- Active accounts: retained while in use
- Inactive 365+ days: notified, then auto-deleted after 30 days no response
- Anonymized usage logs: 30 days
- Audit trail: 180 days
- Backups purged within 90 days of deletion
- Financial records (if paid): 7 years per Indian Income Tax Act
10. Cookies & Local Storage
MetPower uses browser local storage for:
- Login session persistence
- Language preference (Hindi/English)
- Theme preference (dark/light)
- App shell caching for offline use (Service Worker)
No third-party tracking cookies. No advertising trackers.
11. Changes to Policy
Significant changes will be notified via in-app message or email. Continued use after changes = acceptance.
